*World Organ Donation Day*- *Date*: World Organ Donation Day is observed annually on August 13 ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵.- *Purpose*: This global event aims to raise awareness about the significance of organ donation and encourage individuals to consider donating organs to save lives ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵.- *Importance*: Organ donation can save up to eight lives per donor, and a single organ donor has the potential to save or improve up to 50 lives ¹ ².- *Statistics*: There is a waiting list of over 3 lakh patients, and at least 20 persons die each day waiting for an organ ².- *Myths and Facts*: Many myths surround organ donation, such as eligibility based on health issues or age, but few medical conditions completely prevent organ donation, and there is no standard age limit for organ donation ².
